Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.
The Pharisees thought that by killing Christ, His power would be terminated. Their confession was that “the world had gone after Him, and they could prevail nothing.” And so the only way to destroy His popularity was to crucify Him. Little did they know that His cross would lead to His crown, that slaughter would bring Him sovereignty. The predominate truth of the Revelation is that a nail-pierced hand is to wield the scepter of universal dominion. The slain Lamb is the sovereign Lord. The Crucified is the Glorified. A thorn-scarred brow is diademed with many crowns. Such is the message of Easter.
