The fruit of the Spirit.

A cluster of nine graces compose the Spirit’s fruit. The first three are related to our inner life—the next triad to our outer life—the last trinity of virtues to our life godward. And the believer cannot produce the fruit by self-effort. The Holy Spirit produces it. The child of God simply bears it. “From me is thy fruit found” (Hosea 14:8). Further, much fruit is not the outcome of much work. Professed results are not necessarily the fruit of the Spirit. They may only be the product of the energy of the flesh.
