Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing.

Christ here gives us a blank check: “Whatsoever.” Surely this covers all our need. How slow we are to cash our check. But let it be noticed that prayer will only be answered as it accompanied by faith. Have you faith to praise God for the assurance of granted requests, even though the answers have not yet reached earth? Doubtless you have heard of the old lady who had a small hill in front of her windows that somewhat obscured her outlook. Taking our Lord’s Word about prayer moving mountains a little too literally, she asked for the troublesome hill to be removed. Waking up next morning and finding the hill still there she remarked, “Just as I thought.”
