Fifty-Second Week: The End

The end of all things is at hand.
—1 Peter 4:7

It must be evident to the most casual observer that the chaos on every hand indicates a climax. Something is about to happen. Those of us who accept the more sure word of prophecy believe that Someone is coming. And when Christ does appear, our Christian witness will be at an end. Some of our many privileges like prayer and testimony and giving will reach their end. “Soon will the season of rescue be o’er.”* Our opportunities are becoming fewer as the days roll by. May we use the rest of time as unto the Lord! Because we may be nearer heaven than we think, may we find ourselves more deeply exercised about our own holiness, and also the salvation of never dying souls at home and abroad.
